At Catalana Drilling, we are continuing to grow and are looking for new professionals to join our team. We are part of Catalana de Perforacions, a Spain-based company with almost six decades of experience in drilling and civil engineering, and a pioneer in Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD).

As an HDD Driller, you will be responsible for operating Horizontal Directional Drilling equipment and will play an active role in the execution and control of the different stages of the drilling process, working closely with the rest of the site team.

You will work on projects at different locations across Germany, so we are looking for someone with experience, a responsible approach to work and the flexibility to travel according to the requirements of each project.

What will your day-to-day work as an HDD Driller involve?

  • You will operate Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) rigs and equipment during project execution.
  • You will carry out drilling operations in accordance with the plans, technical parameters and instructions established for each project.
  • You will monitor and supervise the drilling process throughout its different stages.
  • You will monitor drilling parameters and make the necessary adjustments during operations.
  • You will coordinate the team’s activities during drilling operations.
  • You will carry out basic checks and maintenance tasks on the drilling rig, equipment and tools.
  • You will work closely with the rest of the team to meet the schedule and objectives of each project.
  • You will keep the work area organised and follow all established health and safety procedures throughout drilling operations.

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum education: compulsory secondary education or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as an HDD Driller.
  • Experience operating Horizontal Directional Drilling equipment.
  • Previous experience operating Ditch Witch HDD rigs will be an advantage.
  • Valid Category B driving licence.
  • A Category C+E driving licence will be an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and coordinate tasks related to drilling operations.
  • A responsible and committed approach to work, with good attention to detail.
  • Commitment to high standards of workmanship and safety.
  • Ability to adapt to different projects and working conditions.
  • Essential: willingness and availability to travel and work at different locations across Europe, depending on project requirements and locations.
  • Availability to work some weekends when required by the project.

Our teams travel according to the location and duration of each project, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable working away from their usual place of residence.
